This Series shall be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of US Sailing, this Notice of Series and the Sailing Instructions issued by each host venue.
Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the Organizing Authority (OA).
3. Eligibility, Entry & Fees
3.1 2018 RS Tera California Series is an optional competition open to RS Tera class boats. You must be a member of the RS Tera North America Class Association to participate in the Series. Register for the Class at RSTeraNA.org. You will be directed to a link for class registration.
3.2 Competitors must have been born on or after January 1, 1999.
3.3 Entries for the 2018 RS Tera California Series must be submitted online at dphyf.org/TeraSeries.htm.
3.4 The entry fee for the RS Tera California Series is waived and no series souvenir will be awarded.
Tera Series entry fee is $30.00. This fee includes a Series souvenir for each skipper.
3.5 Participants may enter the 2018 RS Tera California Series no later than the August 1st entry deadline for the 2018 RS Tera North American Championships.
3.6 Participants must enter and race in a minimum of three venues with at least three Tera participants to form a class at the event.
3.7 An entry with each individual host club must also be completed for each individual regatta in accordance with the Notice of Race for each Event.

#2a – Koll Family Spring Dinghy Regatta – April 8, Lido Isle Yacht Club
#2b – Commodore's Cup Regatta – April 8, Westlake Yacht Club
#3 – RS Tera Pacific Coast Regatta – May 12, California Yacht Club
#4 – BCYC Leukemia Cup – June 3, Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club
#5 – Olympic Gold Regatta – June 10, Westlake Yacht Club
#6 – Fourth of July Regatta – July 7, Alamitos Bay Yacht Club
#7 – RS Tera North American Championships – August 4-5, Dana Point Yacht Club
#8 – Richard Henry Dana Charity Regatta – August 12, Dana Point Yacht Club
5.1 Scoring is based on the accumulation of points in the skippers five (5) best regattas. Points are accumulated based on the number of Tera entries in the event. In addition, there is a 1.5 multiplier for points earned at the RS Tera North Amer ican Championships. Your five highest scoring events count toward your total for the 2018 RS Tera California Series. Points are assigned based on Appendix 1 and are subject to the following additional rules:
5.2 The skipper is registered as the skipper of the boat in the event.
5.3 The event is one of the regattas listed above in Section #4 and is open to all RS Tera North America class members who register for the event.
5.4 The skipper is a member of the RS Tera NA Class Association in good standing.
5.5 The skipper is registered for the 2018 RS Tera California Series.
5.6 If there is a tie between two or more skippers, the tie will be broken by the skipper with the highest place at the RS Tera North American Championships in 2018. If a tie still exists, each skipper’s regatta points shall be listed in order of highest to lowest and at the first point(s) where there is a difference, the tie shall be broken in favor of the skipper with the best scores.
Prizes will be awarded at the end of the Series:
6.1 The RS Tera California Series Perpetual Trophy shall be awarded at the Richard Henry Dana Charity Regatta to the Junior who has the lowest cumulative point score for the scheduled regattas using the scoring system explained above. The name of the winner shall be inscribed on the Perpetual Trophy. The perpetual trophy shall be kept for that year in the Yacht Club of the winning skipper. If the club does not have adequate facilities to retain the trophy, it shall then reside at a place determined by the DPHYF Board of Directors.
6.2 Take home Trophies shall be awarded the top of finishers in the series.

Competitors participating in any regatta in the series do so entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the any regatta in the series.
